Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi Note 2 is indeed one of the most anticipated smartphones expected to launch sometime this month. The Mi Note 2 is likely to be the Chinese company’s high-end smartphone to feature the Galaxy S7 edge like dual curved edge AMOLED display, powerful chipset, ample onboard storage and more. Earlier this week, CEO Lei Jun mentioned that the smartphone had already gone into mass production. Now, to raise curiosity among Mi fans, the executive has mentioned that the 'Mi Note 2 will come with a surprise.'

The news comes from Chinese publication Tautio, but there are no hints about the 'surprise' as yet. It may have to do something related to the pricing or hardware. Earlier this week, we also came across the Mi Note 2 teaser showing hinting at the dual camera setup at the back. This would make the Mi Note 2 the third Xiaomi smartphone to some with dual rear cameras after Redmi Pro and Mi 5s Plus. The teaser also hinted at ice cream back with curved edges. Also, while the dual cameras on Mi 5s Plus and Redmi Pro were placed at the center, the Mi Note 2 may have the camera modules placed on the corner, just like the iPhone 7 Plus.

Coming to the functionality of the dual camera setup, the Redmi Pro uses one sensor to capture photos, whereas the other sensor is used for capturing depth information. This enables users to add DSLR-like bokeh effects to the photos. The Mi 5 Plus, on the other hand, has two 13-megapixel sensors – an RGB color sensor whereas the other is a monochrome sensor. It uses Qualcomm’s latest ClearSight technology for capturing richer details while reducing overall noise. The same type of setup and functionality can also be expected from the Mi Note 2′s rear camera. ALSO READ: Xiaomi Mi Note 2 teaser hints at dual camera setup, here’s what we know so far
