Xiaomi Mi Note 2 release date, features, price: the Big surprise may await Mi fans – International Business Times, India Edition

Xiaomi is not willing to reveal the key specifications of its upcoming device, the Mi Note 2, but its officials are making sure that it stays in the news by providing information in bits. The CEO of the company, Lei Jun, has said that mass production of the upcoming device has begun, but refused to reveal more.

Lei Jun has caused curiosity among Mi fans by describing the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 as a “mystery.” It could be something that could come as a surprise.

The Chinese technology giant is expected to release the Mi Note 2 soon – as early as October. Popular analyst Pan Jiutang has claimed that the upcoming handset would be released by the end of October, before any reports suggested that the device could be pushed to November.

The device has been cleared by the Chinese CCC authority (China Compulsory Certification), but it is yet to be cleared by the Chinese telecom equipment certification authority, TENAA, which means it may take some time to hit the stores.

According to reports, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will come in two variants — one with a 64GB internal memory and a 4GB RAM with a price tag of 2,499 Yuan, and the other with a 128GB internal storage and a 6GB of RAM priced at 2,799 Yuan.

The handset is also expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor clocking at 2.6 GHz, an Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system, a 64/128GB of internal memory, a 4/6GB of RAM, a 12MP dual camera, and a 4,000 mAh battery.

There are also reports making the rounds that Xiaomi will release a variant of the Mi Note 2 with an Android 7.0 Nougat based MIUI 8, a 256GB internal memory, an 8GB of RAM, a 21MP dual camera, and a 3,600 mAh battery with Quick Charge technology.
