Global Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi Inc. is very much known for a lot of things, which pushed the company to where it is now — competitive mobile specifications, killer software developments, consumer-wide range of products and very reasonable prices.
Lately, however, its pricing department is being challenged. While this sounds a bit alarming to some of its most loyal smartphone users, this should not be taken as a serious dent on their future decisions as its purported increase is still within the bounds of the “Xiaomi” universe.
The product in question is the Xiaomi’s upcoming, highly anticipated phablet, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. Touted as the most expensive Xiaomi smartphone ever, the iteration’s new moniker came after a leaked information indicated that the next phablet will be priced at CNY 5,699. Furthermore, its entry model is hope-crushing as well; it will be marketed at CNY 4,999, which is essentially $ 742 at the current exchange rates.
Nevertheless, the speculated increase in pricing will be Xiaomi’s first in terms of venturing into that sector of the industry. As soon as it gets released, it would be interesting to see whether its market will be able to grow it or not. On the other hand, whether the price justifies the smartphone itself, everything will be answered once the phablet finally gets unveiled.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is expected to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 and will be aided either by 4GB or 6GB of random access memory (RAM) and 64GB, 128GB or even 256GB worth of internal storage. The phablet’s entry variant will be sporting a decent 1,080 p resolution, while its high-end offering will be equipped with Quad High-Definition (QHD).
Optically, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 might be equipped with a 21-megapixel (MP) camera and will be fueled by a 3,600-miliampere-hour (mAh) battery.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is slated to be unveiled on Oct. 25 at a scheduled event in China.
