The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 (not to be confused with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 unveiled last August) is successor to the excellent Mi Note. It’s a flagship phablet with a screen that is curved on both edges, much like the now-discontinued Galaxy Note 7. Tomorrow we will hear the full details about the new Mi Note – here’s how to watch the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 live stream. Also see: Should you buy the Chinese phones? and the best Chinese phones 2016
(It’s not the only live event this week: also see how to watch the Windows event on Wednesday and how to watch the Apple event on Thursday.)
How to watch Mi Note 2 live stream
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be unveiled via a live stream on 25 October 2016. You can tune into the live stream via Facebook. It begins at 2pm GMT+8, which is the 11:30 IST, 13:00 WIB or 23:00 PDT on October 24. In the UK the time you want is 7am BST (GMT +1). English translations will be provided. If you’re not planning to get up that early, fear note: we’ll bring you full details of the new Mi Note 2 tomorrow.
For those of us who will be getting out of bed a little later, Xiaomi is also hosting a special Facebook live session at the 22:00 GMT +8, 19:30 IST, 21:00 WIB, 07:00 PDT. That’s a more reasonable 3pm in the UK.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 rumours – What to expect from Mi Note 2
All we know for sure so far is that the Mi Note 2 is “curved to impress” with a “two-sided dual curves”. It will also run MIUI 8.0, a customised version of Android Marshmallow. (View the MIUI 8.0 video below.)
Oppomart is already listing a Mi Note 2 on its site at $ 499. It offers the following specification, which may or may not be correct though there is little here that would surprise us:
• 5.7 in the LG-made dual curved screen, 2560×1440 (Quad HD) display
• 2.35 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor
• 4GB/6GB LPDDR4 RAM
• 64GB/128GB/256GB UFS 2.0 storage
• Dual 16Mp Sony OIS rear camera, 16Mp front camera
• Support global 37 bands (GSM/WCDMA/LTE-FDD) network
• Dual-SIM dual-standby
• MIUI 8 base on Android 6.0 OS
• 4100mAh battery
The listing suggests the Mi Note 2 runs bands 3, 7 and 20 which, if true, will make it the first Xiaomi phone compatible with all 4G networks in the UK. Usually O2 and GiffGaff are left out in the cold.
