The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.2.2 update has been with drawn by Samsung in favor of a newer version of Android, this According To Australian carrier Telstra who has relayed That information to its Galaxy Note 2 owners today.
Several days ago, a suspicious rumor popped up Stating That had delayed the Samsung Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.2 updates again and Because Of That, it would likely be moving on to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean instead. The rumor, at the time, seemed a bit odd considering That we’d seen Android 4.2 leak for the Galaxy S3 and the updates were both rumored for arrival in the third quarter after an internal delay.

Turns out, there might be some truth to That rumor as the Australian carrier Telstra has told its Samsung Galaxy Note 2 owners That the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update has been “drawn with” and That the company will be pushing to update the Galaxy Note 2 with a newer version of Android Which likely means Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Here is the full quote That the carrier Provides:
“Samsung have elected globally to skip the 4.2.2 update for this device and will instead go to a newer version of Android. No schedule has been provided for this update. “
This seems to back up an EARLIER report and considering That it’s coming straight from an employee of the Australian carrier, it’s likely thatthis information is accurate.
Samsung itself has yet to say anything about the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update nor the Galaxy S3 Android 4.2 update and it’s impossible to say Whether it will or not.
Galaxy Note 2 owners in some places have been waiting since October for its first major update while the Galaxy S3 owners have been stuck on Android 4.1 since September of last year.
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is said to be coming to replace Android 4.2 with an arrival likely at Google’s press event in San Francisco on July 24th. The software is likely to roll out for Nexus smartphones and tablets first and then hit devices like the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 later.
The update is said to be a smaller Android update, something that was the samples by a leak That occurred today. Android 4.3 will be coming with a few new features, chief among them Bluetooth LE (Light Energy), font changes to Android’s Roboto, and tweaks to the camera application.
There overpriced Appear to be minor changes as well. Nexus 4 user Sam Tate has Outlined Several of the changes he’s seen since installing the update and it Appears That the update might bring improved battery life and a fix for Wi-Fi issues.
