If you have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, you May be pleased to knowthat you May be among the few Android users to havetheir devices updated to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean without having to update to Android 4.2. This is not an official confirmation from Samsung but it is from a reliable source from the land down under.
An official with the Australian carrier Telstra confirmed That the Note 2 will not be getting the Android 4.2 update but will instead ‘go to a newer version.’ The actual statement read:
“Samsung have elected globally to skip the 4.2.2 update for this device and will instead go to a newer version of Android. No schedule has been provided for this update. “
The ‘newer version’ in this case has got to be the Android 4.3 since though there are rumors of Google launching Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie sometime later this year, there is no reliable evidence That the version even exists. Google’s Play Store version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Became the first device to be spotted with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, Followed by LG’s Nexus 4.
We do not know Whether only Australian Telstra Galaxy Note 2s are the only ones thatwill get Android 4.3 skipping 4.2 but with the launch of this new operating system close, it seems very likely That Samsung will just update any Note 2s with 4.3 rather than work on a 4.2 update Which will soon be just one of the many old versions of Android.
Android 4.2 is a very minor update from 4.1 Compared to 4.3. We Hope That Samsung will clear this issue soon so most of us who have the Note 2 will make up our minds Whether to stick to the device or upgrade to Galaxy Note 3 thatwill be coming soon.
