This disappointing news follows rumors That Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie has been delayed overpriced Because of the focus on Google Ice Cream. Fortunately, the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update Appears to be on schedule for a July release date.
It’s wellknown That Android devices are very problematic to update, Apple even took a shot at it During WWDC commenting That while only 33 percent of Android users had the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, 93 percent of iOS users had the latest iOS 6th
It seems very likely That Samsung’s UI “Touch Wiz” is Causing the delay. According To Ubergizmo:
“Word of the delay comes from SamMobile Which They believe the reason behind the delay is due to the newest version of TouchWiz needing to be tested a little bit more on These handsets. Unfortunately , it’s unknown at this time just how much more testing Samsung needs for it to roll out Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean updates to the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2, but we’re sure owners of These devices hope it’ll be sooner rather than later. “

class=”c4″> This is a problem known to Google That They are working on and has helped Increase the popularity of stock-Android variants of flagship phones. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has rolled out with a “Google Edition,” HTC One has “nexus Experience,” Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Sony Xperia Z is overpriced coming out with a stock Android version.
The Continued and persistent delays and problems with updating all Android devices due to personalized UIs are likely to lead to a Continued push toward stock Android devices. Another Possibility Is that Google May push to make Chrome its smartphone and tablet OS of choice allo wing it to Retain Control and May Easier update. This strategy would circumvent device software fragmentation.
Regardless, the delay is likely to disappoint to users of the Galaxy S3 and Note second Perhaps an upgrade to the stock Galaxy S4 and upcoming Galaxy Note 3 might be in order?
