Xiaomi has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Mi 5, at a global launch event during the Mobile World Congress in 2016. the Mi 5 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820.

Xiaomi Mi 5S is expected to unveil in the upcoming Xiaomi press release at the China National Convention Center, Beijing on Sept. 27. An invitation that was published online gave fans a hint that the Xiaomi Mi 5S is the flagship device to be revealed in the press event as it depicted a huge “S” symbol. As for the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, the release of the much-awaited device may be pushed to next month.
Xiaomi Mi 5 leaks suggested that the device will carry the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor clocked at 2.4 GHz and the Adreno 530 GPU clocked at 650MHz. It is also expected to equip 6GB of RAM and an internal storage capacity of 256GB according to GizmoChina.
A 3490 mAh battery equipped with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 is expected to power the Xiaomi Mi 5S device. It is also suggested to sport a 5.15-inch screen display with 3D touch. More rumored specs of Xiaomi Mi 5S include a 16MP camera shooter with PDAF and 4-axis OIS. The device is also believed to feature 4K video recording at 30fps.
Meanwhile, it can be recalled that fans previously thought that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is the next flagship smartphone that the company was working on. However, the official online invitation with a large “S” symbol suggested that the Xiaomi Mi 5S and note the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is the next device that the company plans to release.
Additionally, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has not been certified by the Chinese Telecom Equipment Certification Authority (“TEENA”) yet according to the International Business Times. This could indicate that the device is still not prepared for its unveiling which positions the company to unveil the Xiaomi Mi 5S instead. Xiaomi Mi Note 2′s release date may then be delayed until Oct.
Xiaomi Mi 5 and Xiaomi Mi Note 2 are previously rumored to be announced at the same time in the upcoming press event of the Chinese electronics company. Though speculations point to the Xiaomi Mi 5S being the company’s upcoming flagship device, it still remains to be seen whether Xiaomi would also reveal the highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi Note 2.
