NEW DELHI: A Samsung Galaxy Note 2 phone led to a suspected fire in an aircraft in Chennai this morning.
“The suspected fire and smoke came out from the phone at 7:45 in the morning. We have called Samsung officials to discuss on the issue,” said a senior DGCA official.
He added that the meeting with Samsung officials is likely to be held on Monday.
This would likely be the first case of fire and smoke from a Samsung Note 2 phone. Recently, the DGCA and regulators across the world had banned the carrying of the Galaxy 7 phone in switch on mode on flights in India.
Samsung could not be reached for comment immediately.
