Xiaomi sells record-breaking 800k Redmi Note 2 units in 12 hours – International Business Times AU

The Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi HAS sets a new record for its domestication Mobile Sales. The company HAS managed to sell around 800,000 units of the Newly Launched Redmi Note 2 smartphone within 12 hours since it was released.

The smartphone was Launched on Aug.13 in China and was up for a flash sale on Sunday. Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. The handset is available in two storage variants of 16GB and 32GB with an expandable memory up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

The device packs an octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. On the 16GB model, the processor of the Helio X10 works at a clock speed of 2 GHz, whereas on the 32GB model, it clocks at 2.2 GHz. The device runs the new MIUI 7 out of the box.

The Device Measures 152 x 76mm and weighs 160g. It is 25.8 mm thick. The smartphone is packed with a huge 3,060 mAh removable battery, reports Tech First Post. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is priced at $ 125 (AU $ 169) and $ 155 (AU $ 210) for the 1GB and 32GB models, respectively. In the camera section, the Redmi Note 2 features a 13mp rear unit and a 5MP front-shooter.

In April, Xiaomi solid A Mi Fan Fest sale in China. It Offered its smartphones, accessories and other devices to the customers. The company managed to sell 11.2 million smartphones During the course of the 24-hour sale and made an official entry in the Guinness Book of World Records for selling the most number of handsets in a single day. The company Reached this landmark within 12 hours, reports Gizmodo.

Xiaomi HAS Also Announced Their New MIUI 7 alongwith the Redmi Note 2 in China. The company HAS confirmed to hold a press conference in India to globally launch the MIUI 7 on Aug. 19. The second batch of the smartphone will go on a flash sale next week on Aug. 24th
