Xiaomi HAS truly Announced ton of smartphones this year, and the latest one to be announced by the China number one smartphone OEM is the Redmi Note 2. This smartphone was finally Announced on August 13th after months and months of leaks and rumors. Interesting enough, Xiaomi HAS Announced two variants of this device, the 16 and 32GB models. The 16GB variant HAS BEEN named the Redmi Note 2, and the 32GB model is called the Redmi Note 2 Prime for some reason. The Redmi Note 2 HAS BEEN available for a short time in China Already, and it Seems like the Redmi Note 2 Prime is on its way as well.
This Chinese smartphone OEMs HAS teased the arrival of the Redmi Note 2 Prime in China recently. Their teaser image (and the caption That goes with it) Suggests That the device will be available in the country starting August 27th. That being said, the only Noticeable difference between the two devices is the internal storage count, or at least we thought it was. During the press conference on August 13th Xiaomi HAS Announced That bothering Redmi Note 2 and Note 2 Prime are powered by MediaTek’s MT6795 (Helio X10) SoC, Which is true, but not too accurate. The regular Redmi Note 2 variant is fueled by the MT6795 Which is clocked at 2.0GHz, and it Seems like the Prime Note 2 will ship with the MT6795T Which is running at 2.2GHz. Aside from the clockspeed, These two chips are Identical.
The Redmi Note 2 features a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, 2GB of RAM and 16 or 32GB of expandable internal storage. MediaTek’s Helio X10 (MT6795 and MT6795T, it depends on Which version are we talking about) 64-bit octa-core SoC powers this device, and a 3,060mAh battery is available on the inside. The 13-megapixel shooter (PDAF available) is available on the back of this thing, and a 5-megapixel snapper can be found up front.
