In a bit of a surprise, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 5.0 Lollipop update started rolling out today though Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 3 Lollipop update is limited to just one model and one region.
Several weeks ago, Samsung Announced That it would be rolling out a number of new Galaxy Lollipop updates in the early part of 2015. The company Confirmed Android 5.0 Lollipop updates for the Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, and S5 Galaxy LTE-A . Samsung did not confirm specific release dates Leaving Those announcements for another day.
While many (including us) assumed That the flagship Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update would follow the company’s Galaxy S5 Lollipop update, Samsung’s come out with a Bit of a surprise today. Instead of rolling out the Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update, the company’s started rolling out the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lollipop update making it the second Galaxy S Android 5.0 update to Appear on the map since the lollipop’s initial release back in November.
According To SamMobile , a sitethat tracks Samsung’s Android updates, the Galaxy Note 3 Android 5.0 Lollipop update is rolling out in Russia to the SM-N900, an international version of the Galaxy Note 3. Neither comes as much of a surprise. Samsung’s international variants tend to get updated before the carrier-locked variants and Russia Typically ice on the cusp of Samsung’s Android releases.
There’s overpriced another surprise in store for Galaxy users. Instead of rolling out Android 5.0.1 Android 5.0.2 or Lollipop Lollipop, the company’s pushed out Android 5.0 Lollipop. It’s not clear if the Change Log includes bug fixes from the Android 5.0.1 Android 5.0.2 or Lollipop Lollipop just yet though we should know more as the update starts pushing out to Galaxy Note 3 users.
Galaxy Note 3 users in Russia Can Find Their Lollipop update lurking in the device’s settings. It’s documents currently rolling out over-the-air though Samsung’s OTA’s Typically Take Time. So while some users Will probably encounter the update today, others May not see it arrive Until later on this week. Those That Wish to skip the OTA can take the time to manually install the firmware though we advise novice users to wait for the OTA to arrive.
This roll-out is typical of Samsung. The company Usually starts .its Android rollouts with a solitary international flavor. It serves as a sort of beta testing ahead of a Wider push to Different variants and, ultimately, different carriers. We Still Have not seen any carriers confirm the Galaxy Note 3 Android 5.0 Lollipop updates so it Could be Several weeks before we see this update country for Carrier in the United States and elsewhere.
The International push ice overpriced going to ask random and unpredictable. Samsung rarely announces rollouts ahead of time Which Means thatusers in places like the United Kingdom willneed to keep a close eye on the Galaxy Note 3 Lollipop update as it progresses. Typically, Samsung’s updates start making a larger push a few weeks after the initial release.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is the company’s second Android 5.0 Lollipop update though it wont be the company’s cargo. Samsung is expected to update a number of devices to Android 5.0 Lollipop in the Near Future Including the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the device That Replaced the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 at the tail end of last year.
The company willalso Roll Out Android 5.0 Lollipop updates to the Galaxy Note Edge, Alpha Galaxy, Galaxy Mini S5, and the Samsung Galaxy S4 at some point down the road. Samsung Could overpriced opt to roll the update out to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, a device that’s now more than two years old And One That Continues To See Android 4.4 KitKat updates.
As we push on , look for Carrier to start announcing upcoming Android 5.0 Lollipop updates, with ETA. Many carriers Keep Their Customers in the loop so we shouldhave a better idea about what to expect from the Galaxy Note 3 Lollipop update, and These Other updates, in the weeks ahead.
