Note 2 Lollipop update is Not exactly the most Talked about by Samsung. In fact, They have hardly everytime Talked about it in public, All We Know Is that the update’ve been Confirmed. With all of That out of the way, let’s talk about what we do know about Samsung’s plans to update the Galaxy Note 2 with Android 5.0.
Lagging Behind
Like it or not, Samsung is the world’s biggest Android manufacturer. Without Selling Samsung’s of millions, if not hundreds of millions, of Samsung Galaxy devices, we would not see the same market Numbers That we see today. Sadly though, as companies get bigger, They sometimes start to slip up in various areas. Samsung Releases So many Devices That It has Become Difficult for them to release updates in a Timely Manner. It’s been a little over two months since the Android 5.0 Lollipop update was released, yet the Samsung HAS only pushed out updates for the Galaxy S5 into a handful of regions.
Making Improvements
On the brightside, we’ll have seen the Samsung Working on Getting Lollipop updates out to Their Customers Faster than They have with any other update into the Past. I believe it only Took them 31 days before They pushed theirfirst Lollipop update out in Poland. This is still incredibly slow When compared to Google or Motorola, but this is blazingly solid When compared to Samsung’s history of Android updates. I hate to criticize Samsung, but you would think That a Company That makes millions of dollars in profits every quarterback Could afford to expandtheir team of Software Engineers. In otherwords, even if Samsung HAS note started rolling out the Galaxy Note 2 Android 5.0 Lollipop update just yet, You Could still be residual Assured That The Samsung HAS not forgotten about .its ex-flagship device.
TouchWiz Performance
It’s not all doom and gloom though. We do knowthat Samsung HAS BEEN working through the Latter Half of 2014 and the start of 2015, on rewriting TouchWiz from the Ground Up. We Can See The Amount of progression They have screened so far in the early builds of Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Galaxy
S5 and the Galaxy Note 3 thathave been released and thathave leaked. This Could usher in a new era for SAMSUNG When It Comes To The Android market. The South Korean tech giant has had a horrible reputation over the past couple of years, thanks in no small part to the ITS TouchWiz OEM skin. With the release of Android 5.0 Lollipop though, They Might Be Able to get back on track and win back so many Cu stomers That They have lost Lately.
Confirmed Update
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2 INITIALLY was released in September of 2012 and the HAS since been screened Available in 128 Countries. As of September 26th, 2013, Samsung HAS sold 30 million units to Customers Around the World. Typically we see Android OEMs commit to a 24-month support cycle. This Means That for 24 months after a device is released, They will do Their Best to update it to the latest versions of Android, but an update can not be guaranteed. The Galaxy Note 2 Already had been out for 26 months When Google officially released Android 5.0 lollipop’s source code to the public. Eventhough Samsung is well past the 24-month support cycle for the Galaxy Note 2, IT HAS BEEN Confirmed Th at the Android 5.0 update Lollipop would indeed be rolled out to the aging Samsung Galaxy Note second
Later in 2015
Samma Announcement That Confirmed the Samsung Galaxy Note 2′s Lollipop update actually gave us a hint about When The Update Will Be pushed out to the Customers TOO . Sadly, They were very vague about it, but I would say it’s still better than nothing. In the announcement from Denmark, We were Told That the Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S5 Active, S5 Galaxy Mini, Galaxy Alpha, and the Galaxy Note 2 Will Be Getting Their Android 5.0 Lollipop updates “later in 2015″. Just like with all Android updates from Samsung, These Will Be staggered out Throughout the Year. The Galaxy Note Edge, Alpha Galaxy, Galaxy Mini S5, and the Galaxy S5 Active are almost assuredly going to be updated to Lollipop Before the Galaxy Not e 2 Will Be. We Might Be Waiting Until The End of The Summer Before the Galaxy Note 2 Receives .its first Lollipop update.
