Brentwood-based Churchill Mortgage has announced it is expanding into Northern California with the opening of its third branch in the state, this one in Yuba City.
Nick Williams, area manager for Churchill Mortgagee in California, will oversee the branch. He also manages Churchill’s Orange, California, location, which was the first to open in the state in 2014.
"Northern California boasts beautiful landscapes and climate, making it a very attractive place for prospective homebuyers," Mike Hardwick, the Nashville-based president of Churchill Mortgage, said in a release. "Establishing a branch in Yuba City provides us with a local presence, which is critical to our ability to serve borrowers and make the real American dream of homeownership available to a larger set of families and individuals."
Jersey Mike’s opens in Gallatin, holding a fundraiser
A new franchise location of Jersey Mike’s Subs, which opened Wednesday in Gallatin, is holding a free sub fundraiser through Sunday to support Station Camp Elementary School.
Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised nearly $ 18 million for local charities.
The new restaurant is located at 940 Memory Lane.
"We are thrilled to be a part of the Jersey Mike’s brand to serve an authentic taste and experience to the Gallatin area," franchise co-owner Dan Patel said in the release. "We believe that Jersey Mike’s is the very best in quality as well as in helping others. We are able to share our passion of giving back to the community by partnering with Station Camp Elementary School."
Bonobos has grand opening date
Online menswear brand Bonobos is opening its first Tennessee brick-and-mortar location on Dec. 16 at the Hill Center Green Hills.
This "e-commerce store will allow customers to try on clothing, with Bonobos.com serving as a virtual stockroom. Customers are assigned guides upon arrival, and purchases are shipped to customers directly.
The Nashville location is the brand’s 30th store nationwide.
Tennessee Chamber launches employee education program
The Tennessee Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced a partnership with GED Testing Services to victims, employers in the state and their employees access to education programs.
The program helps employees attain high school equivalency, but also includes more advanced education and training, according to a release. According to the state chamber, more than 300,000 workers in the state did not complete their high school education.
"An educated workforce is a top priority for the Tennessee Chamber and critical for us to address in order to continue to attract business to Tennessee," the Tennessee Chamber President and CEO Bradley Jackson said in the release. "Our members know that having a properly educated, well-trained workforce is key to their own success, just as it helps us recruit new employers. We are encouraging members to take advantage of the TN Chamber/GEDWorks as part of our goal to help more adults earn high school credentialing."
