NEW DELHI: Ageing Android phones not getting the latest update is the norm in the smartphone industry, but It Seems Samsung Galaxy Note II Will Be Among the fortunate few old smartphones to break away from the trend.

The Samsung Poland HAS Confirmed That the Galaxy Note II, unveiled in September 2012, I will get the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update. In a reply to twitter userimmichal, the company’s Polish unit saidthat the Galaxy Note II Will receive the update, but did not divulge other details about the release.

The Note phablet series has seen two more launches since the release of the Galaxy Note II, making it arguably one of the oldest devices to get the Lollipop build. However, considering That it is a pretty old product, it Is Possible That other, newer Samsung handsets may get the update first.

This overpriced Means That The Samsung Galaxy Note II would get to run on all Android versions since 4.1 (Jelly Bean).

This is not The First Time Samsung HAS given an update to one of .its successful products. Earlier, the Galaxy S II had received the Android 4.1 update eventhough it had been released of Two Years After .its unveiling.

Android device makers Usually do not give the latest update to devices That are over a year old, and even Google Usually does not update .its own Nexus products after 18 months of Their launch. There are Several Reasons for this, Including the low popularity of some products, Extensive work required to perfect the software build for each phone, telecom carriers’ own Requirements, etc.

Apple, on the otherhand, updates ITS devices With the latest version of iOS for up to four years.
