Samsung Galaxy Note 2: Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update Still Due, Android 4.3 … – Android Geeks

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean continues rolling out on more Samsung Galaxy Note 2 devices, but Android 4.4.2 KitKat is still missing in action. It seems like all Galaxy Note 2 smartphones will soon be updated to Jelly Bean, as Samsung is preparing to start rolling out KitKat.

We expect Samsung to release the KitKat update in May, but no exact date has been offered, unfortunately. It seems like they will start rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for both the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3, as you've probably read in our previous article.

We have a list of models that should receive the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update soon and here they are: International GT-N7100, China Unicom Gt-N7102, International GT-N7105, China Mobile GT-N7108, Verizon SCH-i605, US Cellular SCH-R950, AT&T SGH-i317, Bell, Rogers, SaskTel and Telus SGH-i317M, T-Mobile SGH-T889, Mobilicity, Videotron and WIND SGH-T889V, Sprint SPH-L900, China Telecom SCH-N719, NTT DoCoMo SGH-N025, KT SHV-E250K, LG U+ SHV-E250L, and SK Telecom SHV-E250S.

If there have been any model missed out, please let us know and we will try to find out more information about it.

Samsung will probably have the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update ready by May and they will start sending it to carriers for certification, which can take a while, depending on the carrier. We don't expect the update to roll out to all devices by the end of May, as it sometimes takes months. You can watch the Jelly Bean update, which isn't even finished yet, even though it's now months old.

Once the update is ready and we manage to get our hands on it, we will let you know. We will offer it to you so you can update manually through Odin, so you don't have to wait for your carrier to release it.

If you have any information about the update or even questions for us, please leave us a comment in the form below. We keep watching Samsung in order to find out more information for our readers and we will keep you posted.
