Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi finally Launched the Redmi Note 2 with high-end technical specs for the budget conscious. As many as 80,000 units of the smartphone are reported to have been sold in just a single flash sale in China.
Following the popularity of the Redmi Note 2, other smartphone manufacturers have Introduced devices with similar technical specs . One Such handset is the recently released Motorola Moto G (2015) aka Moto G (3 rd gene).
Like the Redmi Note 2, this smartphone too falls in the budget segment. Here is a comparison of the two devices:

Display
The Redmi Note 2 features a 5.5in full HD 1080×1920 display, alongwith 401 pixels per inch (ppi) density. The Moto G comes with a 5in screen having resolutions of 720X1280 and pixel density of 294 ppi. Both the smartphones boast multi-touch and 16 million colors.
Hardware
The Redmi Note 2 incorporates two octacore Cortex-AS53 CPU’s clocked at 2.0GHz and 2.2GHz respectively. These are embedded within a MediaTek MT6795 SoC. The internal storage of the smartphone varies based on the processor configuration. In contrast, the new gene Moto G is powered by a quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU, clocked at 1.4GHz, embedded within a Snapdragon 410 SoC. This smartphone comes in 8GB and 16GB internal storage variants based on the RAM (1GB and 2GB respectively).
Memory
The Redmi Note 2 is classified on its Internal Storage That consists of 16GB and 32GB variants, with each variant featuring a 2GB RAM. The 16GB edition is powered by a 2GHz CPU, while the 32GB edition features a 2.2 GHz processor. However, only the Chinese version of the Redmi Note 2 Has a MicroSD card slot for expansion of internal storage (16GB by default in this version) expandable up to 32GB. On the other hand, the Moto G (3 rd gene) lets buyers choose between 8GB and 16GB of internal storage variants. These phones feature 1GB and 2GB RAM respectively. By default, users get to expand the internal storage, up to 32GB with an external microSD card.
Camera
Both the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and The Moto G (3 rd ) gene have an Identical 13mp rear camera That features an LED flash and let users capture 1080p videos at 30fps. The handsets have an almost similar 5MP front camera. However, the 5MP front camera in the Redmi Note 2 supports 720p video capture, while the front camera in the new Moto G supports auto-HDR recording.
Battery
The Redmi Note 2 is powered by a 3,060 mAh lithium-polymer battery That is CLAIMED to sacrifice a talktime of up to 11 hours and 30 minutes on 3G. In contrast, the Moto G (3 rd gene) features a 2470 mAh lithium-ion battery.
Software
The Redmi Note 2 is powered by the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) operating system with the new MIUI 7 interface on top. The newer Moto G runs the more recentchanges Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) OS.
Release date, price and availability
The Redmi Note 2 is available in China (via online flash sales) for the CN ¥ 799 (£ 79, $ 125). It will be available in India Shortly. Motorola’s Moto G (3 rd ) gene can ask stock Quantity in the UK for £ 147.00 and in the US for $ 180.
