Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Hangouts Can not Connect to WiFi - The Droid Guy

samsung galaxy note 2 hangouts app

We received a question from a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 user about the Hangouts app. It reads:

“Hi, I have an issue Regarding Hangouts. Whenever I open a video call in my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Note 10.1, I get a message That says, ‘Video call is disconnected. Check the internet connectivity and try again. ‘

However, the video calling is working fine with Skype and other apps. I am running Android 4.1.2 and I’ve got the latest Hangout update as well.

This is the issue with the EARLIER Hangouts version overpriced. I am using my university WiFi Which is secured with 802.1Xeap. The speedtest That I run shows a speed of 15:44 Mbps for download and 12.65 Mbps for upload. The common ports like 8080, etc. are open in our server.

I appreciate it if you Clarify Whether this is a bug with Hangouts. If not, how do I fix this? “

The Possible Solutions to the Problem

Upon checking various forums and other websites dedicated to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and other Android devices, the problem is apparently being experienced by many Android users. So, I am afraid to say thatthis is probably due to a bug in the app itself or a compatibility issue.

However, the technical support of the Mobile Suggests THE FOLLOWING remedies According To the contributors in the Google Groups forums:

1. Refresh the system of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 through a Soft Reset.

second Clear the cache / data of the app. Do the same with Google Play Services and FC.

3rd Uninstall then reinstall the app.

4. Try reseating your profile picture.

5th Close other video messaging apps That are running in the background, if there are any.

6. Wait for the next update.

note that the solutions here May or May not work. Many users saidthat the number 2 item somehow temporarily solved the issue. But after another call, the issue recurred again. But trying any of These poses no harm anyway so give it a shot first.
