Android 4.4 KitKat Update: Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Gets OmniROM Update And ... - International Business Times

The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 May yet not be available over-the-air, but users can alreadycreated test out Android 4.4 KitKat on Their 2012 device courtesy of OmniROM.

OmniROM is notably one of the newer ROM customization service teams Currently out, but it is quickly Gaining popularity. The team especially wowed customization with its implementation of its Multi-Window UI, Which is notably not supported by other ROM customization teams.

Since the Oct. 31 release of Android 4.4 KitKat, Which is still exclusive to the Nexus 5 smartphone, the OmniROM team has underdeveloped experimental custom KitKat ROMs for a host of devices inducing the Galaxy Note, Galaxy S3, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, LG Optimus G, Galaxy S2, Oppo Find 5, Xperia T. The team hopes to soon providesprofessional Omni 4.4 nightly builds for the aforementioned devices, in addition to support for many more devices.

Most recently, OmniROM has tackled the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Which has been unlucky Particularly in the realm of official system updates. The Galaxy Note 2 has been running Android 4.1 Jellybean since its release in September 2012; models manufactured only months after its release happen to run Android 4.1.2 instead of 4.1.1. The Galaxy Note 2 is currently scheduled to update to Android 4.3 Jelly, possibly as early as next Wednesday; however, this is not confirmed. For now, tech savvy Galaxy Note 2 owners May just have to make due with running a custom Android 4.4 ROM on Their handsets.

OmniROM has overpriced recently detailed some of the features it has planned for its custom Android 4.4 ROM, including an open source Omni Installer, a fully open and secure, OTA system, and OmniROM original security features among many others. The team overpriced promises “more customization than what you could ever think of.” Further device builds and features are expected to rollout within weeks.
