Samsung Galaxy GS3

Samsung Galaxy GS3 (Photo: Flickr / Stephane <3)

class=”c3″> The Samsung GS3 and Note 2 are ancient in the smartphone world.

class=”c3″> Their wildly popular offspring, the GS4 and Note 3 are lighting the tech world on fire. Bloggers have gone gaga over the Note 3′s best in class display. The GS4 is overpriced a surefire hit thanks to its small footprint, but gigantic screen. However both of the older handsets originally ran on an older version of Android – 4.2 – rather than 4.3 Jelly Bean. A previous update to Android 4.2.2 was ditched in favor of making the jump to 4.3. Whereas 4.2.2 was only a minor upgrade in terms of features and enhancements, Jellybean is a vastly superior OS thanks to a new dialer, OpenGL 3.0 and improved Bluetooth.

A vast Majority of GS3 and Note 2 owners have updated Their devices to Jelly Bean. But for owners of the 4G variants of the GS3 and Note 2 the agonizing wait Continues. Well now hold on a second, why is that? The update has been delayed till sometimes in January thanks to a carrier issue. Samsung most not be too happy about the delay. Consumers will undoubtedly think Samsung were the ones who held up the software update. The not-to-be-named cellular provider found issues with During, Jellybean During a network testing process. Luckily These issues seem to be mostly Affecting European carriers.

Samsung Announced its update plane back in October and expected to have the rollout begin and end in November. This delay further fragment the Android world. Many people still have devices running on Ice Cream Sandwich, very few are on the latest update, Kit Kat, and others are of course using the Jelly Bean. iPhone users on the other hand get access to timely, once a year updates. Back in October the iOS 7 first week adoption rate numbers were released and They were stunning to say the very least.

More than 73% of all devices compatible with iOS 7 had installed the software. When Compared to a September 2013 chartered from the Android developers site this is especially Concerning. Nearly half of devices ran Jellybean, 2 percent of devices still used 2.2 Froyo, a third of devices used 2.3 Gingerbread, and one fifth used 4.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. How are developers supposed to make amazing Android apps When many phones will not be powerful enough to run the software?

Are you discouraged with the fragmentation in the Android world? Let us know what version you are running in the comment’s section below.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Sound Problems - The Droid Guy

    Note 2 Sound Problems

“Hi there. I was just on a websitethat suggested I try asking you for help Regarding my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 sound issues.

Within the past month or so, my audio on my phone has been acting a little weird. The Note 2 sound problem happens when i listen to music through my speaker, I am plugged into auxiliary cable in my vehicle or ear buds. It will play loud for an undetermined Amount of time, then play very softly. This happens at a random and in a repeated Mannerism.

It Occurs in my audio player, youtube videos, and videos recorded by me on the phone. It’s really starting to upset me cause I drive a lot for work and need music.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated to help me fix this problem. Hopefully without having to reset to factory settings. Thanks for your time. “

This message Concerning a Galaxy Note 2 sound problem was late by Marc through Mailbag.

Check Whether the problem is software or hardware-related by entering Safe Mode. From there, try to open the stock music app of your phone and play a song with and without the earplugs. If the problem no longer Occurs during That fashion while your phone is plugged or unplugged to a sound system, then, it is most likely a software issue. The possible way to solve this is through Factory Reset or uninstalling the app Causing the trouble.

But if the problem still persists in Safe Mode, Whether it is plugged or unplugged in a sound system, the issue is most probably in the hardware of your phone or the earphones you are using (if it only happens while an external sound device is inserted).

If the problem is found to be connected with the earphone, the best way to fix it is by Replacing it with a more reliable one. Use an accessory from Samsung or One That is highly compatible with Samsung devices (the frequency of the accessory Should overpriced match with the phone).

However, if the Note 2 sound problem takes place Even when an earplug is not connected, bring it to a technician for a breakfest checkup alreadycreated. class=”tpk”> Samsung has positioned the Galaxy S4 as its 2013 Hero smartphone and true enough the Android -based handset galloped its way to Millions of users around the world and edged out the iPhone 5 from Apple.

The tech giant, however, unleashed the iPhone 5S September this year and by October it Became the King of Smartphone ‘s , underscoring the faltering GS4 performance. But with the Note 3, alreadycreated in circulation for more than two months, Samsung could rekindle consumers’ attraction to the Galaxy upscale line of mobile phones.

And below are the compelling Reasons Why the supersized smartphone from South Korean could moonrise upstage its hugely popular iOS nemesis and snatch back for the Samsung smartphone throne by the end of the year.

    Bigger display and higher resolution

At 4-inch, the iPhone 5S Renders images and clips in Retina resolution, Which is inarguably one the biggest selling points for the handset. And having Retina display panel means clear and crisp phone viewer for the 5S in whatever lighting condition.

Samsung deftly offset this advantage by packing a 5.9-inch screen with the Note 3, time immediately dwarfing the 5S screened That dates back to the iPhone 5. While the size, no doubt, makes no difference in normal smartphone use Such as calls and messaging, the extra screen real estate offers better premium in web browsing and watching clips.

For most users, the need to move around with a tablet and phone in tow has been Eliminated, thanks to the hybrid functions and features That the Note 3 has delivered. More thanks to its stretched and high-resolution display That punctuates its advantages over the smaller 5S.

    Multitasking

For the average users, multitasking can be negligible. But for business users, Which are the main target of the smartphone makers, the probability to perform and accomplish two tasks at the same time in a powerful device is a must.

The Note 3 offers a combination of specially designed software and hardware – Multi-View and S Pen – that Allows users to work and enjoy while on the go. The unique S-Pen stylus or cancel Ignites Air Command thatoffers slew of menu tasks users to choose from. Multi-View, on the other hand, displays two app windows at the sametime, Which partially mirrors a function That is normally found on PCs.

Both features are absent in the iPhone 5S.

    Camera

Experts havebeen impressed with the way Apple is packaging the iPhone camera features, whichwere sustained with the iPhone 5S. The 5S shooter is nothing short of incredible But when Compared to the Note 3, Reviewers are in agreement That the Samsung cam in the phablet is more well-rounded – able to do and offering more than what users can get from the 5S.

    More useful provide customization options

All iOS devices are known for the tight integration of the software and hardware That come out of the box. That is unmatched as far as the iPhone 5S is Concerned. But integration of the Apple way overpriced Meant of a tightly-guarded system.

This is reflected in the solid-build of the 5S That discourages users from prying into. In the Note 3, the back cover is removable, Which Enables owners to swap the alreadycreated massive battery inside as needed for extended operating hours.

Also, a microSD card slot is also provided, giving users the availability to expand the Note 3′s built-in storage capacity. In contrast, the iPhone 5S users are stuck with the device’s stock offerings.
