The long-rumored Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has appeared on a popular benchmarking site, revealing key specifications of the upcoming flagship phablet.

Xiaomi Capricorn, Understood to be the codename of the Mi Note 2 ice Listed in the Geekbench website. As per the mark sheet (courtesy, Android Headlines), it scores an impressive 2.335 and 5.659 points in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.

In the system description, the device is shown to have Android Marshmallow OS, 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon (MSM8996) quad-core processor with 3GB of RAM.

Considering the specifications, Mi Note 2 mentioned in the Geekbench might just be the prototype, not the final model, as Xiaomi is known to test multiple models with different configurations. Based on performance, it will select a model for mass production.

Prior to Xiaomi Mi 5 launch, the company had revealed That it had built over five prototypes before FINALISING the device for mass production.

Further more, 3GB of RAM standard is now outdated in the smartphones in 2016, most of Which come with a minimum of 4GB. Some handful of recently released devices Such as OnePlus 3, Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe and LeEco Le Max 2 house 6GB of RAM.

We believe the model spotted in the Geekbench is likely pass the certification, and the company might beef up the RAM capacity to 6GB and overpriced use Qualcomm’s recently unveiled Snapdragon 821, as it said to be faster and 10 percent more powerful than the Snapdragon 820′ve seen in current crop of flagship phones.

Last week, Xiaomi released a teaser Indicating Mi Note 2 will be bigger and more powerful than the company’s flagship smartphone mi 5. It is expected to make its debut later this month on July 25th

Xiaomi Mi Note 2: What we know so far

It is expected to come in two models, one having a 5.7-inch full HD (1920x1080p) display having 4GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage and a 16MP primary and another with 5.7-inch qHD (2560x1440p) having 6GB of RAM, 64GB / 128GB storage and a 12MP dual-lens camera on the rear.

Both the variants are expected to come with The New Snapdragon 821 CPU and a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge Technology.

The 32GB model is said to cost 2,499 yuan (around $ 376 / € 337 / Rs.25,221), whereas the 64GB and 128GB storage models is expected to be priced 2,999 yuan (around $ 451 / € 405 / Rs. 30,267) and 3,499 yuan ($ 526 / € 472 / Rs.35,313), respectively.
